Mimecast - Large File Send

You can send attachments safely and securely via Large File Send in Mimecast for Outlook. Once a Large File Send message has been successfully sent, a notification will confirm the message was sent. Should a Large File Send message fail, use the Large File Send Manager to attempt to resend or cancel the message in question.

To send attachments via Large File Send from Microsoft Outlook:

1. Open Outlook.

A:
Yes. Large File Send cannot process files that do not collectively exceed 1 MB.

Q:
Is there a maximum collective file size limit?
A:
Yes. A maximum file size of 2 GB is allowed.

Q:
I've sent a file that was under the maximum file size allowed, but it seemed to have failed with an error stating it was over the maximum file size. What is going on?
A:
When sending an email message, its content goes through various security checks. This can mean attachments that are under the Large File Send maximum file size limit may increase in size over this limit. If this happens, separate the attachments and send them individually.

Q:
I'm trying to drag and drop files into a message, but this doesn't appear to work. What is going on?
A:
Large File Send does not support drag and drop functionality into Microsoft Office or other email clients. To add files to a message, you must use the Large File Send functionality available in the Mimecast Personal Portal or the Mimecast ribbon in Outlook. Refer to the Mimecast Personal Portal: Sending Attachments via Large File Send and Mimecast for Outlook: Sending Attachments via Large File Send webpages for further details.

Q:
If trying to securely send a large file using both Large File Send and Secure Messaging, but it appears that the message isn't being sent securely. Why is this?
A:
Unfortunately, the use of both Large File Send and Secure Messaging on the same message isn't supported. In this scenario, Large File Send is used to send the message, leaving the message's body unencrypted.
